The founder of a Democrat Super PAC aimed at attacking Republican politicians is planning to tour Florida beaches dressed as the Grim Reaper to shame those who attempt to get some sun.
Daniel Uhlfelder, an attorney in Santa Rosa, and founder of the Make My Day PAC said that he would begin hitting the beaches in his absurd costume beginning on May 1.
While not all beaches in the state have reopened, those in the counties of Okaloosa, Hernando, Flagler, Pasco, Duval and Monroe counties have — and the wet blanket attorney is not pleased about it.
“Many of you have asked if I am willing to travel around Florida wearing Grim Reaper attire to the beaches and other areas of the state opening up prematurely. The answer is absolutely yes. Beginning May 1 we will hit the road here in state. Please retweet and spread the word,” Uhlfelder tweeted.
It is unclear if the motive for his early Halloween costume is genuine concern for people’s health and safety — or a fundraising stunt.
A link to the “Grim Reaper Tour” on his website asks for donations to “distribute equally to Democrats running for federal office. They include, but are not limited to: the opponent of Matt Gaetz, Phil Ehr; and Christy Smith, who’s running in the special election in CA on May 12 to fill the vacancy caused by Katie Hill.”
Uhlfelder’s claim to fame on social media is that former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee filed a bar complaint against him in 2019 during a feud the two were having over whether beaches should be public or private.
Huckabee’s Florida Bar Association complaint was made December, accusing Uhlfelder of using social media to post “vile and unprofessional attacks” and “repeatedly posting disparaging information about me.”
The Democratic activist responded by saying “make my day,” which went viral on Twitter, hence the name of the PAC.
Florida residents who want to see which beaches are open can do so at Visit Florida.
