Three women were harassed for daring to clean Black Lives Matter vandalism off the Department of Veterans Affairs building in Washington, DC.
The woman filming herself harassing them accused them of misusing their “white privilege.”
The women were scrubbing the building down when they were confronted by the stranger who was filming them.
“Why are you guys removing Black Lives Matter’s graffiti?” the confrontational woman demanded.
One of the volunteers explained that they had tried to remove other vandalism on the building, but it wasn’t coming off, so they were just trying to clean up what they could.
“But why do you want that to come off?” the angry woman continued.
The good Samaritans explained that it is a federal building and vandalism, seemingly stating the obvious.
“So you don’t care about black lives then?!” the woman continued shouting at them.
Growing clearly exasperated, the young women explained that of course they care about black lives, while attempting to clean up the mess the group had left behind.
“But not enough to leave up a message?” the woman filming asked, becoming increasingly aggressive.
The girls explained that they’re just trying to clean the building.
“Not a great way to use your white privilege ladies,” the woman said. “That’s disgusting.”
Riots and protests have plagued cities across the nation for nine days. There has been theft, kidnapping, vandalism, looting, and even murder. Countless businesses have been destroyed. The rioters claim to be responding to the death of George Floyd last Monday while in custody of the Minneapolis Police.
DC has been facing protests and riots for six of those days.
At least 60 Secret Service agents were injured on the third day of the riots.
On Sunday, they lit the St. John’s Church on fire, which was built in 1816. Every sitting president has attended the church at least once since it was built.
