A Minneapolis business owner unleashed during a live local news report on Friday evening, warning that if the mayor and governor don’t get the situation under control — the people will.
The man said that he owns a shopping center and was speaking to a KARE reporter in the midst of the riot.
“What I want to tell people right now is that if the governor and the mayor are not going to take care of this problem, people will,” he said. “People will uprise over this.”
The man pointed out that there are people of all races who have “worked their f-cking life off” to build their businesses, prompting the reporter to remind him that he is on live television.
“Those people that live there, that make their business there, they’re Korean, they’re black people, they’re immigrants, they’ve worked their f—king life off trying to make this thing happen” he added.
A protester soon interrupted the interview by jumping in front of the man.
Minneapolis has been being destroyed for days as the police have been ordered to stand down and allow the arson, rioting and looting to continue. Countless businesses have been destroyed, which were already hurting from the shutdown over the coronavirus pandemic.
The rioters say that they are “protesting” the death of a black man who was killed in the custody of Minneapolis Police on Monday. The destruction has spread to nearly every major city in the United States and is expected to continue throughout the weekend.
Gov. Tim Walz tweeted around midnight asking people to go home.
“The Minnesota National Guard, State Patrol, and local police are on the ground responding to incidents in Mpls-St. Paul. I urge residents to comply with 8pm curfew and go home immediately. Law enforcement needs to respond to emergencies, restore order, and keep Minnesotans safe.”
